We made it back in time to catch the hornline warm up before ensemble. I highly recommend the Beeches if you ever go to this show. We took a break and checked into our hotel, only 5 minutes up the road. They have a legitimate shot at being in the top 2. The pit has that unique PR sound, and plays some hellish stuff. A very solid group, the battery was crankin it. We also got to see the drum line do a run through behind the back stands. We arrived on show day in time to watch the hornline working on some visual technique drills. Actually coat and sweatshirt cold when the clouds came out. The weather all weekend was cool and breezy. The field is a nice artificial surface, with big front stands. PR had the benefit of staying right at the show site for 2 days. The locals know their drum corps, and everywhere we went we were met by friendly people. It’s been around so long even I got to march in it a couple of times. ![]() For 29 straight years this quiet upstate NY town has hosted this show. 2 days of PR at the Drums Along The Mohawk show. We opted instead for dropping off the kids at “Nan Nan’s” (Thanks!), checking out the Kalamazoo Webcast, and then traveling the modest 2 hours north to Rome NY. We had to cancel our original plan to drive the 10+hours to Ohio to find BD.
